SAHARA's S.A.W.I.N. (South Asian Women In Need) Transitional Living Home strives to provide a culturally sensitive residential environment for healing and recovery. We help mothers and children who are survivors of domestic violence for transitioning from crisis into independent living in US Society.

S.A.W.I.N. was founded in 2003 from a generous donation by Drs. Yogesh and Ranjan Goradia and other various donors. Since then, women and children have been able to live a life free of violence in the 4-bedroom home, while developing the necessary intellectual, emotional, and mental skills that will facilitate a smooth transition into a successful, empowered, and independent life. In August 2007, we received the Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Shelter-Based Program Grant which allowed us to hire a resident coordinator for the home.
